The challenge
A US customer recently commissioned a new jet suction dredge. After the start-up phase, it became apparent that the installation was not yet running stably and that performance was below what was possible.
The operators were experienced, but were not familiar with this specific type of installation. As a result, they lacked sufficient process insight, which led to fluctuating production and regular intervention in the event of blockages.
The customer asked EQvolve to provide practical on-site training for ten operators, focused on improving process understanding and ensuring a more consistent working method.
Our approach
EQvolve provided a five-day on-site training course directly on the installation and under realistic working conditions.
The training consisted of a combination of theory and practice, with a focus on:
We observed daily operations, participated in production, and discussed specific areas for improvement for each operator.
The week ended with a test. All 10 operators passed and received a certificate.
The result
The operators are now working:
The customer now has a team that understands the new system and makes optimal use of it, resulting in a structural improvement in the performance of the installation.
