The challenge
Our customer in Southern Europe was not achieving the desired production with its converted cutter suction dredger. The installation had limited automation, only analog (and partly defective) meters and no insight into flow or vacuum. This led to frequent blockages and inefficient processing of coarse sand and gravel.
The customer wanted:
Our approach
During a two-day on-site visit, we analyzed the entire hydraulic and mechanical process. Using mobile sensors and flow meters, we mapped pump load, vacuum level, piping configuration and valve operation.
Based on our findings, we made targeted optimizations:
For structural improvement and to reduce operator dependence, we integrated the EQvolve Profiler on site. This plug-and-play measurement and analysis unit collects and visualizes real-time plant data such as flow, vacuum and power. By providing insight into these process values, the Profiler helps operators run the dredging process more stably, prevent blockages and increase production.
