The challenge
A leading Dutch shipbuilder sought support in the further development of an existing concept design for a new type of plain suction dredger.
The goal: an efficient, modular and lightweight pontoon configuration that can be deployed worldwide and transported in three standard 40ft OT containers.
The challenge was in combining technical feasibility, buildability and standardization within the frameworks of price, weight, stability and ease of assembly.
Our approach
We acted as an extension of the internal engineering team and brought in specialist knowledge of dredging installations, modular structures and practical system requirements.
With a fresh, critical eye, we translated the concept into a manufacturable and assemblable design, including:
In addition, we supervised the assembly phase on-site, where we supervised the assembly and optimized technical details based on the reality in the field.
