For plain suction dredgers
The right choice for your soil conditions
A jet head is the optimal choice when the seabed is too compacted for plain suction alone, but a cutterhead dredger would be too technically and financially demanding. Because no underwater mechanical drive is required, installation is simpler, reliability is higher, and greater working depths can be achieved without additional hydraulic lines.
The jet head is particularly suitable for loose to moderately compacted sand, gravel, and silt.
Compared to a cutterhead, the purchase and maintenance costs are significantly lower, while the production capacity remains comparable under the right soil conditions.
